Man or Machine?

Facebook and Google are working on making the internet have no launguage barriers. They want it so Spanish speaking people can read French websites. How is this going to happen? Either with humans, or machines. Facebook has real people translating things which makes it more accurate where as Google is having pages translated at the same time by using technology. Because of that it is not always completely accurate.
What do I think? I say whatever floats your boat. If all you need is the "jest" of something go with Google. I personally would go with things being accurate. I hope it works though, I would love to chat with person from China! :)

Texting vs. Sleep!

Cellphones...texting...computers...facebook...it all comes down to socializing. These days teenagers are getting less and less sleep when we really need more then ever. The reason behind this is technology. A lot of people (not just teens) are texting and on the computer all night long. They sleep with their phone by their head so they always have access to it. Kids always want to be "in the loop" and be able to know what is going on all the time. Resulting is a loss of sleep.
I think this is just stupid! I don't have a phone yet (I have mean parents and have to wait until I am 16) so it doesn't really make sense to me. Why would you waste sleep over something that can wait until the morning? Sleep is one thing I am always craving and never seem to have enough, and I would not give that up to text. Just wait for the morning!!

Facebook ads

Facebook is becoming more then just a social website, it is becoming a bussiness website. The article "Facebook Sells Your Friends" talks about how well advertising is on Facebook. The Nike commercial was put on Facebook and helped Nike go from 1.6 to 3.1 fans in one weekend. Because of all the users on Facebook that commercial just kept getting passed around. Soon enough it was everywhere!
I think that is so cool! If I was a high up person in a big company I would definetly do that also. They don't even need to do anything. Just post a commercial and let everyone else do the work. Before you know it everyone will know about your ad!

24/7 Stress!!

The article I just read talks about blogging. There are some people out there who do this (blogging) for a living! They work in a "digital-era sweatshop" a.k.a. their homes. Work for them never really ends. They have long hours and get very little sleep. There schelduele is very demanding and some people have even died. (Not nessesarily because of blogging, but related to it.)
To me that is crazy! I would not be able to stand working all day long in front of a computer! It would make a little bit more sense to me if the people made a lot of money but they don't. Some only get $1o a post. The job is very stressful and sounds like no fun to me. I would rather be doing...almost anything other than that!
